Both ProspectDPreset and Marmit2Preset support smooth interpolation between any two or three parameter sets. Interpolation is performed in parameter space — each intermediate set is passed to compute() which produces a physically consistent spectrum. This is the correct approach because PROSPECT-D and MARMIT-2 are nonlinear models; interpolating spectra directly would be physically wrong.

4.1. Practical Use: Leaf Ageing

The classic use case is animating a leaf through its lifecycle: - Two-point: blend from YOUNG_LEAF (t=0) to SENESCENT (t=1) - Three-point: drive through YOUNG_LEAF → MATURE_LEAF (midpoint) → SENESCENT
